Acupuncture

Dr. Matthew Smith

Dr. Matt is more than a natural medicine provider, he eats, sleep and breathes nature.  After 10 years of experience in the EMS field, he was tired of seeing patients who were not getting the answers and care that they deserved.  He knew, from personal experience, that there was a better way to handle chronic health concerns.  That’s when he decided to pursue his education in Oriental Medicine.

Dr. Matthew Smith, DACM, MSOM, AP, L.Ac., Dipl. AC., EMT-P, Pn1, CKTP

Dr. Matt attended Florida College of Integrative Medicine, the oldest oriental medicine school in the southeast.  After completing a four-year medicine program in three years and graduating in January of 2012, Dr. Matt became licensed in Florida as an Acupuncture Physician.  He then spent the next three and a half years treating patients in the central Florida area.  His patient population ranged from as young as 5 to adults as old as 95, including professional soccer players from the Orlando City Lions.

In late 2015 Dr. Matt became licensed in Georgia, received his national board certification as a diplomate in acupuncture, from NCCAOM, and moved to the Atlanta area for a clinical nutrition and functional medicine training program in Marietta, GA.  Dr. Matt spent the next year deeply immersed in functional medicine and clinical nutrition.  Late in 2016, and feeling the desire to return to his Chinese medicine roots, Dr. Matt resigned from the Marietta clinic to pursue his Chinese medicine practice.

Always striving to provide higher levels of care, Dr. Matt returned to school in 2018 to finish his doctoral studies.  In 2019 Dr. Matt graduated with his Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine degree from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine.

Dr. Matt now focuses on integrating Chinese medicine, functional medicine and clinical nutrition to provide for the best possible outcomes for his patients.  He believes that the doctor is a guide, and in order for a patient to achieve the level of wellness that they deserve, the patient must take ownership in their healthcare.  Dr. Matt takes every opportunity to counsel and educate his patients on better health choices.
